The largest Young Professional network of Rotterdam
This is Rotterdam
Rotterdam -- the Netherlands' second largest city and Europe's biggest port – has enjoyed a transformation from a city plagued with urban problems to a hip place to visit or live. Today, Rotterdam has become a city of many faces: a tough port city, a trendy nightlife city, an inspiring architecture city and a hip artistic city. Its innovative skyline is always changing and increasingly offering opportunities for young professionals who are looking for inspiration. One of these opportunities is Rot.Jong: the largest network of Young Professionals in Rotterdam.
We are Rot.Jong
The Rot.Jong foundation was founded in 2012 to contribute to the development of Rotterdam as a home base for Young Professionals by bringing together Young Professionals in Rotterdam and providing a platform to create and share ideas. The members of Rot.Jong work together on managing the Foundation and organizing inter-company events to help fellow Young Professionals connect with Rotterdam and each other.
Amongst others, the Rot.Jong events include:
- Social events, like informal drinks and outings organized at interesting and new locations throughout the city;
- Educational events, like informative and interactive sessions by leading guest speakers and captains of industry;
- Active and outdoor events, like a sports day or clinics to get familiar with new sports;
- Cultural events to learn about the architectural highlights of Rotterdam;
- Social impact events, where Young Professionals give something back to the city by doing volunteer work.
The Rot.Jong network consists of 26 Rotterdam-based organizations with a solid base of Young Professionals actively engaging in Rot.Jong activities. These activities are funded by the membership fees paid by the organizations so their Young Professionals can participate in events free of charge.
The Rot.Jong board ensures a fair distribution of different organizations over events to ensure diverse audiences and equal opportunities for each member firm. Additionally, each month another member firm opens its doors to the Rot.Jong core team composed of 2 to 3 Young Professionals per member organization. During these meetings, Young Professionals discuss the organization of events and the strategy of the foundation to make sure the needs of all member firms are addressed.
